Single Tasking: For Foxy Moms
Single tasking makes me feel Foxy. Want to know why? Because when I multi task I can be known to lose my patience. Oh yes! When I am trying to focus on business, getting ready for dinner and helping kids with homework at the same time, I DON’T feel so sexy. Losing my patience is not attractive and it isn’t productive either. Multi tasking coupled with a lack of self control creates unwanted stress and produces work that is lacking.
Let me tell you a story
I was making dinner while I helped BOTH of my boys with their schoolwork. I know this is a reality for most of us but the typical result is that we have less patience, dinner gets overcooked and most of the team gets stressed and angry.
I lost my patience, felt stupid and then apologized. I can just imagine how unattractive I would feel if at that very moment, while I tried to be SuperWoman, a spotlight shone on me and everyone saw how I was acting.
Ladies, single tasking is where it’s at! I feel like I have more time and less stress when I focus on one thing instead of many. I get a lot more accomplished and feel proud of my progress instead of watching a very small amount of work get done on four or five projects. Who really cares if we eat veggie sticks and leftovers?
Practice single tasking this week and let me know what the benefits are for you!
