Extreme Happiness! Your 3 step guide to enjoying life again
Brad was feeling wound up so tight he thought he might pop! He was overwhelmed by his business and a number things happening in his personal life that he was no longer enjoying the present moment. Some people are so focused on the achievement of their business goals that they miss out on the present moment. They’ve forgotten how to stop and smell the roses.
Have you ever wanted to slow your life down? Do you feel like your kids are growing before your eyes, wrinkles are forming on your face in minutes and you’re missing out on that joyful feeling? C’mon, I know you want more of it!
If we let ourselves get caught up in what feels urgent, the juiciness of life will pass us by.
We will miss opportunities to play with our kids, connect with our spouses, have fun with our friends, maybe even read a book? This act of purposely slowing down is what renews our energy, hope, motivation and purpose.
When life is busy, living in the present is a decision. It’s a decision to go to the beach for 20 minutes even when people want you. It’s a decision to remove yourself from devices and regularly engage with your family. It’s a decision to trust and move forward towards more happiness even when fear and doubt tell you you’re making a dumb decision. Living in the present takes guts and commitment. If you want renewed energy, hope, purpose and motivation, slowing your pace down is the way to go.
Most of us think that living in the present would be a stupid decision. We think it will hurt our bank account, ruin our reputation and make us uncomfortable (because we woudn’t be ‘doing’ anything productive). We say we’re fine happy living out of balance…until the doctor says we have a heart condition, until your child says he’s struggling with alcohol, until your friends stop asking you to come out and play.
Here are 3 ways to enjoy life more and stop stress from getting the best of you.
Enjoyment Tip #1
Laugh Hard. It forces your mind to reset when you need it the most. Whether you’re watching funny movies, wrestling with your kids or tickling your spouse (this is very enjoyable for the tickler especially if the ticklee is pinned down), laughing is like a breath of fresh air when you’re overheating!
Enjoyment Tip #2
Move. An active body is a happy body. Whether you go to the gym, hike, skip, dance, swim, make love, ride your bike or whatever, do it. Believe me, it’s a challenge to worry about the past or future when you need to pay attention to your feet, the tree in front of you or that beauty by your side.
Enjoyment Tip #3
Give Yourself Permission. No one else will tell you it’s time to take a break. No one else will file your anxious thoughts in a box at the back of your mind to deal with after you play soccer with your kid or meet your friend for lunch. You’ve got to do it for you, for your sanity, for your own happiness. Remind yourself daily of what you now have permission to spend your time on, now that you’re giving yourself a fresh start!

Awesome!! When I hear a great song on the radio I pump it up and my family and I all have a 5-minute dance party in the kitchen to release stress and to have fun together!! 😀
Dance parties in the kitchen are the best! They ease so much stress and help us remember to loosen up!! Thanks for sharing Crystal 🙂
